Summer School in the Czech Republic

The Government of Alberta and the Government of the Czech Republic are pleased to announce a new initiative to foster greater academic, research and cultural collaboration between Alberta and the Czech Republic.  In 2017, the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport is offering full scholarships to two Alberta post-secondary students interested in participating in the Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies in the Czech Republic.

During the summer, universities in the Czech Republic organize various Summer Schools of Slavonic (Czech) Studies to create opportunities for international students from partner countries to study the Czech language, literature, culture and history.  Students will also visit important landmarks and attend cultural events.

Scholarships cover the costs of tuition, room and board, and various field trips.  One scholarship is available for each of the following programs:

  • Summer School of Slavonic (Czech) Studies at Masaryk University in Brno, CZ
  • Summer School of Slavonic (Czech) Studies at Charles University in Prague, CZ

Recipients will be selected based on academic merit and relevance of previous study.  Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents and be residents of Alberta.
